The name "Doskas" rings a bell in my head!
I lived on St. Margarite Street while I went to St. Thomas Aquinas school, and Loyola afterwards. I seem to remember the Doskas family living on Lacasse Street during the 1950's.

Were there not two (Doskas)brothers who would be in my age group? I am 72, now, and presently in the Philippines.

Ciao!

My memories of St.Henri are the treasures now of my life. The year begins 1953 when my parents married a Ste.Cunegonde,St.Jacques St.and lived on Greene near Notre Dame. My dad married an English girl from Ontario. My dad was a butcher by trade. Work on the corner of St.Philllipe St.I have a picture of him at Christmas time.

I attended St.Thomas Aquinas School and Church. Went there till 1963. We left from St. Henri, we were living across from RCA building on Lacasse St Not far from the Glen Road.

I just met up with my best friend Diane Coderre who also lived on this street.

these are my memories. I have more but it will be a book. Which I have now begun collecting info and fell upon this great site one year or so ago.

Great Job.

I check the site once in a while to read the comments. Always a pleasure. How I remember la petite cabanne avec la fournaise where we would defrost our mitts when they were laden with snow and ice and warm our frozen feet. Thanks for keeping up the site, it brings such wonderful memories.

I'm trying to learn about my father. I believe his early years were in St. Henri. He was born in 1926, so perhaps this is too early. This site will give me a sense of St. Henri. I thought it was a poor community. It sounds very vibrant. Thank-you so much,
Leslie Leclerc / Cochrane, Alberta
