The POOL ROOM on St-Jacques street

Many an evening was spent at the pool room owned by Denis the Greek. Denis also owned the restaurant next door. The pool room had three large snooker tables and one Boston table. It cost twenty five cents an hour to play pool. Thursdays and Friday nights were very busy nights because those were the nights for skittles, pea pool and six ball. A good player could make a few dollars playing these games. If one was broke, you could become the caller and earn tips from the winners. The caller was the official scorer and judge of foul shots.

The pool room was also the meeting place for outings to bars ( Pagoda, Hale Hakela and others) or to the movies.
