Theatres all on Notre Dame street |
||
|
The Star , Cartier, Corona or the Lido theatres. Going to the movies cost about twenty five to thirty five cents. The Star in the afternoon only cost twenty cents. One saw two movies, a newsreel, and a cartoon. Not bad for twenty cents. Notre Dame was a great street to go for a walk. It was very busy commercially with a lot of stores and some of the best steamed hot dogs. Two hot dogs, a French fry and a coke cost thirty cents. People who only had twenty five cents used to order hot dogs topped with mustard and French fries. Going for a walk on Notre Dame street was also a great way of trying to meet boys or girls. Many people cruised “La Dame”. |
